Dr. Konrad Lachmayer is senoir lecturer at the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law at the University of Vienna - Faculty of Law. He studied law at University of Vienna and visited the University of Cambrige (United Kingdom), the Max-Planck-Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (Germany) and the Central European University (Hungary) for six months each. In 2010, Konrad Lachmayer finished his Habilitation on the topic "Security and the Rule of Law. Challenges of the rule of law by the developments of Austrian and European police cooperation". Konrad Lachmayer is editor-in-chief of the Vienna Journal on International Constitutional Law (ICL-Journal) and director of the NICLAS Summer School.

His research and teaching focuses on International Constitutional Law, especially the methodology of constitutional comparison, counter-terrorism activities, especially data protection, and Austrian and European Governance, especially democratic legitimation and accountability.
